Michelle Damico is a natural communicator, with a successful career based on creative strategies, well-thought-out tactics and the right technology to secure placements in traditional media and through social media networks. She has more than 15 years of experience helping government, business, and nonprofit organizations reach their key audiences through traditional media and integrated social media strategy.

Her news placements span Chicago and the nation’s top-tier media and online media outlets, including the Chicago Tribune, Daily Herald, Chicago Sun-Times, NPR and all Chicago TV stations, as well as national outlets such as the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, NBC’s Today show, Money, Entrepreneur, CNBC, and Voice of America. She was awarded three Golden Trumpet Awards from the Publicity Club of Chicago for successful PR campaigns.

Damico has deep experience leading marketing and communications programs in the public sector. She’s held leadership roles in communications initiatives at the Chicago Park District and the Illinois Tollway. As the first director of cityofchicago.org, the City of Chicago web site, Damico launched the pioneering programs that included online sales of Taste of Chicago tickets and online applications for city jobs. She also served as Communications Director for Mayor Richard M. Daley’s 1995 re-election campaign.

Damico has provided her strategic counsel on social media initiatives launched by Cancer Treatment Centers of America, Red Box DVD Rentals, CVS Caremark, and several farms and agri-tourism ventures in Illinois.

She has also led workshops on how businesses and farms can use social media to boost revenues and customer engagement, and is a frequent social media contributor to the Illinois Farm Bureau multimedia network.
